Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood both got a boost from appearing on the two-part finale of American Idol, resulting in both artists finishing in this week's Top 10 on the albums chart.
Daughtry, who performed "Home" at the end of Tuesday's performance show, got a 53% sales bump to finish at #6 with more than 76K albums sold. Underwood, who performed "I'll Stand By You" and was featured in the Beatles medley on Wednesday's show, rose 15% to more than 52K albums sold, good enough for the #8 spot.
Elliott Yamin, meanwhile, continues his chart comeback, moving about 18K albums for the #31 position. His single "Wait for You" has just entered the Top 20 on the pop chart. Go Elliott!
Maroon 5, who performed on the Top 3 Results show, debuted their new album this week at #1 with 427K albums sold. The rest of the Top 5 includes last week's #1 Linkin Park, as well as new albums from Ozzy Osbourne, Young Jeezy Presents U.S.D.A, and The Used.
