Carrie Underwood is a Superstar; Kelly and Reba Slay the Crowd

Carrie Underwood is a superstar.

I mean, I've known this for awhile, but tonight at the Academy of Country Music Awards, she really acted like a superstar, especially as she made her way to the stage to pick up trophies for Best Video, Female Artist, and Album of the Year. The girl has won literally every award in sight.

In fact, consider this: two years ago, Rascall Flatts came backto perform with Carrie on the American Idol finale. Now, she beats Rascall Flatts for one of the highest honors in country music. The girl is hot.

And then she took the stage, and I swear -- she is transforming. She is confident. She knows what she is doing is fan-freakin-tastic, and she's going for it. She sounded amazing.

Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire also debuted their new duet of Kelly's song "Because of You." It was very touching, and somehow not shocking to hear Reba countrify the very familiar tune. Kelly definitely took a backseat to Reba (the song, after all, will be appearing on Reba's album), but their harmonies were simply sublime. Gaging the reaction of the crowd, I'd bet this one is going to go over quite well on country radio.

Kellie Pickler lost the award she was up for (most promising female) to Miranda Lambert (who I can remember watching on Nashville Star). Funny how two of the hottest girls in country music right now (Carrie and Miranda) both come from reality shows.
