The Awards Keep Coming for Carrie Underwood

Despite the fact that her album "Some Hearts" was released in late 2005, Carrie Underwood keeps on picking up award nominations for her debut release. The 2005 Idol Champ has already won a couple of Grammys, a couple of Country Music Awards, an American Music Award, and eight Billboard Music Awards.

Add to the list five Academy of Country Music Award nominations (announced today), including Album of the Year, Best Female Vocalist (where she'll square off against "nemesis" Faith Hill and fellow reality show alumnae Sara Evans and Miranda Lambert), as well as Single Record, Song, and Video of the Year for "Because He Cheats." That song, by the way, has proven to have the most crossover success for Carrie...while it has fallen off the Country charts in favor of her newer single "Wasted," "Because He Cheats" is currently a fixture on the Pop, Hot AC, and Adult Contemporary radio charts.

Kellie Pickler also picked up an Academy of Country Music Award nomination, for Top New Female Vocalist.
