My Love For Big Brother's Eric and Jessica Reaches New Heights

"Jessica is nominated, and I feel like it's my fault, and I feel like she feels like it's my fault. And I couldn't be more devastated."
-Eric, September 2 2007

I mean!!

I wasn't sure I could fall deeper in love with Eric and Jessica, but last night's Big Brother took me over the edge. If there was ever any doubt as to whether Eric's feelings for Jessica were genuine or not, the events depicted during the episode proved it once and for all. The look on Eric's face when he lost the HOH competition to Zach and realized what was likely to happen, coupled with his giving her the phone call from home and his late-night confession about his America's Choice tasks, showed that in a season with lots of talk of "good" and "bad" people, Eric is one of the good guys.

And what about Jess? It was SO moving to see her talk to her brother, and the perspective she displayed when saying "My brother is 20 years old and he has been in a war, I can handle this house" shows maturity beyond her years. I love this girl.

I'm as surprised as anybody to be rooting so hard for Eric and Jessica -- for the first several weeks of the show, I found him shifty eyed and annoyingly neurotic, and she came off as a petty, dumb blonde. Straight up, I didn't like either one of them. Who knew they would become my runaway faves?

Having said all that, I'm quite sure that one of the two will be going home this week, and that's a real bummer (read Do the Veto Results Mean That Eric and Jess Are Doomed This Week?) But I'm glad I had them to root for.

Thank you!! I thought I was completely alone in feeling the same way about Eric and Jessica. I had no intention of liking either one of them, but in this season full of losers, they stand out like shining stars. I think Eric's mouth gets him in trouble when he's nervous, but I still like him all the same. That's because I know how it feels to say stuff I regret when I'm nervous and upset. I do believe his feelings for Jessica are genuine and I curse the America's PLayer setup that has handicapped his game and forced him to put her in this position. Once Eric and Jessica are evicted I won't watch the rest of the season. I don't want to see any of the remaining house guests go home with a dime.

Sorry, but you have to be kidding, there is something so slimey and sneaky about eric and jessica. Seeing them together makes me ill. Eric has a lot of nerve in calling Janelle a "whore",that is exactly the roll he is playing for BB.

Have you ever considered that Eric, the consummate schmoozer, is putting on a show for the other houseguests?

He's proven that he's the ultimate manipulator, and his recent "hang-dog moping" is no exception.

Eric wants to appear weak, so as to be no threat, plus pick up pity votes from those who end up on the jury. Frankly, I don't thinh either Eric or Jessica would have a problem kicking the other to the curb as long as they make it to the final two.

Gosh it feels so good to know I am not the only one. Like you I did not like both of them in the beginning but after Dick's tirade and Daniele's constant whining...Jessica seems to be a ray of sunshine. Too bad that she is going this week. She should have listened to her instincts and got rid of Daniele last week instead of Whamber.

I'm still not quite sure I "like" Eric. He said a lot of mean things about Jen when he didn't have to. And I don't really like that he wasn't honest to Jess in the beginning about his long term on-off girlfriend. You gotta wonder about a guy who keeps yo-yo'ing back and forth with some girl for YEARS.

Jessica started out horrible - so jealous of poor Carol, who got booted way to early. But with Carol out of the house, Jessica's nicer personality came through. I'd like Jessica to win, but am sure she's gone this week. :(

I actually don't think Jess is going this week. Or maybe it's just me being optimistic that Eric, Jess, Dick and Daniele will, in fact, be the Final Four.

Wouldn't it make more sense, to those four, to evict Jameka this week? Because Zach won't be able to compete in the HoH, it will definitely be one of the four.

Maybe just wishful thinking.

Seeing Eric and Jessica 'swap spit' (which in fact sounds like they are doing 'just that' and only that) makes me wanna vomit... almost as much as seeing Wahmber cry did. What a bunch of losers. Hopefully we will get to see Jessica go out the door thursday night and Eric will immediately follow. If that girl cant tell by now that she is being 'used' , then she is dumber than I ever gave her credit for. GO DICK !!
