Aiken, Locke and Studdard Reuniting on the Road?

Get ready for a reunion of American Idol Season 2's Top 3 finishers.

According to a blog posting on Kimberley Locke's myspace page, she, Ruben Studdard, and Clay Aiken are in talks to tour together next year. The proposed tour, which would feature duets and trios from the perfomers, would be called "Reunited: 5 Years Later."

While Aiken and Studdard's first CD's sold well, both faltered with subsequent releases. Studdard has had moderate radio success on the Urban AC charts, while Locke has been a fairly consistent presence on the AC chart (her latest, a cover of "Band of Gold," is currently in the Top 20 of that chart).

What do you think -- is the tour a good idea, or a little desperate?

Judging by the fansites the Clayfans ABSOLUTELY HATE THE IDEA they are mad as hell.

The Clay/Kim/Ruben tour is a sucky idea. Kim & Rube, please latch onto someone else's coattails.

Great idea. It should be fun.

I think I would be good for Kim, if she could really get the other two to agree. I doubt she will. I certainly hope Clay does not sink to this. He is already having successful tours. Kim has gotten so desperate she appears in two-bit clubs in her underware and uses profanity like there is no tomorrow. I wouldn't care so much if it were just Ruben. He's a nice guy, but Kim has gotten sleezy. Please don't do this Clay. Please.

I do believe this is wishful thinking on the part of Ms. Locke. While Clay could offer fans for Mr. Studdard and Ms. Locke, what would this do for him? He does well on his own. His fans are aware of the other two, and have already made the decision as to who they support.

Personally I think the idea sucks. Their followings are not at all the same. Each one has toured (tried to) since the leaving the show. Clay is the only one who has successfully done that to the tune of multi-millions being made. So is it expected that his drawing power and fanbase are supposed to now come and have to see, hear, and know that the money they pay to see him are being split with people they have no interest in seeing.

A TV special -- one shot deal, might be interesting and worthwhile. A tour -- no way.

I think it would be fun. I would like to see them together, and singing in different combinations. Clay may be the most successfull but this would broaden his exposure beyond the obsessive compulsive creepy group that stalks his every move.

The problem is that the Claymates on average are sore losers regarding AI2 and sore winners regarding his greater success afterwards. Clay might need to convince his followers to get over themselves and welcome the tour.

They were the best top three in AI history - go for it. All three are talented singers.

The biggest thing holding Clay Aiken back from being successful is his obsessive, rude, therapy-needing fanbase.

The 3 of them are all the best of friends so I'm not surprised that they would like to do a tour together, but for the sake of Kimberley and Ruben I hope it doesn't happen.

HA, Judging by the comment before..It's not just Clay's fanbase that seems to have issues. Sweeping generalizations aside..According to Clay's fans Clay blogged to state, this tour isn't happening and never was. Clay also said Fantasia was awsome in Color Purple and he encourages his fans to see her in it if they can. That's impressive to me.

Clay blogged on his official fan site TODAY; the rumor IS NOT TRUE! Put this one to rest people; this probably was wishful thinking on Kim Lockes part! Why she went and announced something like this is beyond anybody? She should have confirmed it with Clay; they are friends!

I think it would be a great idea. They are the best of friends and to see that chemistry on stage would be phenominal.
