Big Brother's Zach: Tedious -- Tragic -- Triumphant?

Big Brother's Zach may be the most tedious contestant on reality tv. Yeah, I said it.

I'm not trying to bash on the guy, because Lord knows his fellow houseguests do that enough for him, but he is absolutely charmless. Heck, even Evel Dick has his endearing moments (in between abusive tirades, of course), but Zach is just a lump of uninteristingness.

And it's kind of tragic. I mean, say what you will about the other players, but they are charismatic. Zach is just there. It's his perception of himself that's so sad, though. He thinks he's cool. He thinks he's been a real player in this game. He thought that having the Donatos back would mean they had his. And the others just laugh at him, or berate him straight to his face. It's heartbreaking.

I don't hate him for these delusions -- I'm angry, of course, that he didn't take the opportunity during the Fast Forward to get rid of Daniele, but I've come to learn he's just not capable of being savvy. It's just not in his nature.

And his act of "rebellion," by nominating Dick and Daniele, is really pretty meaningless, since the only competition that matters this week is the POV. The perk of being HOH is a free ride into the Final 3, but the nominations themselves are purely symbolic. So the fact that he finally grew a set of balls this week is, well, worth just about nothing.

A strange thing has happened, though -- since he has started winning competitions -- like, two HOH's and a POV in the last two weeks -- it's become is a true possibility he could win the Final 3 HOH, and choose to bring Dick with him to the Final 2. I've predicted he would lose to the elder Donato, but if he's won 3 out of the last 4 HOH's, could the jury deny him the top prize?

Tedious...tragic...triumphant? We'll see.
