Semifinal Performances: Jordin

Here we go again...the girls.

Seacrest + turtleneck + blazer = me, very very scared.

Now that, Jordan, is the way to start the show. Already better than every single contestant who sang last night, Jordin tears into "Heartbreaker" by Pat Benetar, sounding nearly pitch perfect on one of my favorite 70's jams (and she hit the last note WAY better than Nikki McKibbin did back in Season 1 when she "rocked out" to this song).

Speaking of that last note, did it not seem like Jordin stopped singing about 3 seconds before her voice stopped being heard? Hmmmmmm. I'm gonna chalk it up to an echo effect for now, I really don't want to think there could be any lip synching element to the show. Weird, though.

Now, I can't lie, my fear for Jordin is that she goes the Lisa Tucker route -- you know, seems promising at first, show signs of weakness, begins to show her age and vocal limitations, butchers a Kelly Clarkson song, gets voted out 10th. (I shudder at the memory of Lisa screeching 'Because of You) For this stage in the competition, though, I'm still on her side.

I don't get the 3-second deal. Could it be the tv signal? In any event, this girl has arrived.
