The Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire love affair continues!
Kelly appeared earlier this year on Reba's television show, and the two will be featured on an episode of CMT's "Crossroads" series later this year.
Now comes word that Kelly and Reba have recorded a duet of Kelly's chart-topping hit "Because of You" that will serve as the lead single for McEntire's highly anticipated duets album, which is due in stores this fall. Kelly and Reba originally sang the song as part of "Crossroads" series, and apparently they were so pleased with the results they decided to record it.
According to "Country Weekly" magazine, Kelly and Reba will debut their version of the song on the Academy of Country Music Awards, which Reba is hosting next month. Other artists singing with Reba on the duets album include Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, Ronnie Dunn, Justin Timberlake, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, and LeAnn Rimes.
Talk about things coming full circle -- Reba was the first music celebrity to truly acknowledge Kelly's talent after her victory on American Idol, performing "Does He Love You" with the now Grammy winning superstar at the Las Vegas Reunion Special in 2002. Now Reba will be singing a song that Kelly wrote and recorded. Wow.
Stay tuned for more info...

Loved your post on Kelly and Reba doing a new rendition of "Because of You" easily Kelly's most powerful song to date. I was glad to hear you pointed out that Reba had the "guts" to be the first music superstar to recognize Kelly. She took a chance and she should be applauded for her stance backing Kelly and singing with Kelly. That duet back at the Las Vegas AI 1 show was incredible. Reba is an increbible superstar and recognized Kelly long before mnay others. Back then if you asked a radio station locally to play Kelly they would reply that they would "never ever" play Kelly. Now radio stations play Kelly, Carrie and now Chris on a regular basis and in addition do many AI tie ins. Before a music super star wouldn't have been caught dead stepping on the AI stage, now they can't wait to get in line to show their stuff on the AI stage to help their CD sales. Reba was a pioneer for Kelly and Kelly was a pioneer for every idol winner and contestant that has followed her. No one should forget what they both have done for current music history. Reba and Kelly are both awesome singers and individuals.
Have you seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jCdhi04wQ4 One of the guys in the studio says, "Usually we do 12 songs for an album. We've done 27, out of about 60. So that's a big deal for her to take that step, and she's taken it perfectly, so it's really exciting when an artist makes a step forward like that."
Get OUT. Does that mean what it SOUNDS like it means? A double-disc album with 27 songs?! Now obviously for every album they record a ton and cut it down to a much smaller amount for the actual standard CD release. However, he says that they've got 27 OUT OF 60. What, out of 60 demos they have 27 final tracks? The fact that he goes on and on about it being a "huge step" for her MUST mean that she is not releasing a standard album of 12 songs.
This summer can not come soon enough!!!
