This past weekend I caught the film Breach on HBO, a taut, fascinating thriller about the "worst spy in United States history." Academy Award winner Chris Cooper played Robert Hansen, the spy in question, while the delectable Ryan Phillippe played the FBI agent who ultimately brought him down.
And I gotta say -- Phillippe was shockingly great! Acting against heavyweights like Cooper and Laura Linney, he more than hold his own, and gave a totally credible performance. Go Ryan!
This bodes well for his next movie, from Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Pierce, called Stop Loss. The film is about Iraqi war veterans, and you can view the trailer below.
