SYTYCD Top 14 Elimination Prediction: Thayne, Comfort, Kourtni and Matt in the Danger Zone

Read Ranking the SYTYCD Top 14: Mia Michaels is a Genius!

After a night with sensational peaks (Mia Michaels' work with Katee/Joshua and Twitch/Kherington), and lots of middle-of-the-road performances (nearly everything else), it's time to figure out who's going home on tonight's Top 14 elimination episode of So You Think You Can Dance.

It's pretty much a no-brainer that Kourtni/Matt and Comfort Thayne are going to be in the Bottom 3 this evening -- Kourtni and Matt have been huggin' the bottom all season long, and last night's dances were less-than-stellar, while the newly paired Comfort and Thayne didn't create much more heat with each other than they did with their previous partners. Expect to see all four dancing for their lives.

The real question is -- which couple will join them?

Katee/Joshua and Twitch/Kherington are safe -- no question. And although Chelsie and Mark were more forgettable last night than they've been the last few weeks, I think they will also avoid the Bottom 3 this evening. I'm tempted to say Will and Jessica will slip back into the dance-for-your-life-territory, but I'm thinking that Will is so spectacular that he'll overcome Jessica's weaknesses and propel them to safety. (Too bad, really, since I'd love to see Will dance with someone else).

Unfortunately, that leaves Courtney and Gev, who I still find totally charming and adorable, despite less than mind-boggling performances last night.

So -- if it's Gev, Thayne and Matt for the guys, and Courtney, Kourtni and Comfort for the girls, who's going home?

Courtney and Gev should be safe -- the judges seem to love them, this would be their first time in the bottom, and they will likely impress with their solos.

Between Matt and Thayne it's a toss-up, but based on the solos we've seen from them in the past, I'm predicting Thayne will be the one to go. He just hasn't shown the stage presence or technical skill to warrant yet another chance in the competition. And while Matt mostly leaves me cold, his technical prowess exceeds Thayne's, and I think the judges will recognize that.

As for the girls, as much as it hurts to admit it, it's Kourtni's time to go. After taking the competition by storm in the initial audition rounds, she's faltered week after week, and I don't see how the judges can justify keeping her around any longer.

So there it is -- Kourtni and Thayne will be the two eliminated dancers this evening. Agree? Disagree? Sound off in the comments section below.

I'm thinking Will and Jessica will make it to the bottom three - I don't think their connection inspires people to call as much as Kourtni and Matt does.

If that happens, I see Thayne and Jessica going creating a Will/Comfort couplefor next week.
