Like former American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks and Jordin Sparks before him, David Cook sang the national anthem at the NBA Finals game last night -- and sounded great!
The guy's gotta be exhausted -- he's been performing non-stop since he won the show, and the American Idol tour is just gearing up, but he still managed to give the Anthem his patented rocker spin.
Watch the video below and enjoy!

What was he staring at?? Was he trying to be somber and respectful, or was he so nervous he didn't dare look around? Yes, he sounded great, but I thought it was an odd presentation.
He was staring at the American flag......duh
He was staring at the flag. This was a very patriotic, straight forward, no frills and no runs version of the anthem. He focused on the flag. He did a really nice job.
That was beyond painful.
Michael Johns sang it better....as a matter of fact MJ sang btter than him every week. Shame.
