The Top 9 sang their hearts out to the music of Dolly Parton, now it's time to figure out...who's going home?!?
Green Zone - Safe by a mile!
David Archuleta, David Cook, Michael Johns
The three boys spend their second consecutive week in the Green Zone -- all three gave above-average performances (Archuleta was especially impressive in re-finding his groove), and none are in danger of elimination this evening.
Yellow Zone - On Shaky Ground!
Brooke White, Jason Castro
Brooke's blah take on "Jolene" and Jason's slightly more inspired rendition of "Travelin' Thru" stayed close enough to each performer's comfort zone that both should have no problem making it to the Top 8.
Red Zone - Danger, Danger, Danger!
Syesha Mercado, Ramiele Malubay, Carly Smithson, Kristy Lee Cook
First of all, Syesha -- what were you thinking? Could she have made a more predictable song choice than "I Will Always Love You"? She may have just written her own exit ticket right there. Carly, once again, sounded great, but, again, something was missing, and I'm afraid it may result in another trip to the Bottom 3 for my Irish gal. Kristy Lee Cook was in her country zone, but sometimes when the audience expects you do well, the votes don't turn up. And what words are there left to describe Ramiele Malubay, aside from boring, uninspired, insipid, karaoke-esque...
Thus...
Elimination Prediction
Bottom 3: Ramiele Malubay, Syesha Mercado, Kristy Lee Cook
Eliminated: Ramiele
Thoughts? Agree? Disagree? Let me know!

This is a bit of a tough week. I would also put Brooke in the danger zone. I think she completely misunderstood Jolene. This is NOT a happy song and you cannot sing it with a smile on your face. She is supposed to be pleading for the love of her life. Her emotional disconnect dramatically hurt her performance. Also, going first will not help her. I do not think that she will be eliminated, but I do think she is at risk of her first trip to the bottom 3.
As far as who will be eliminated, on performance alone, I would pick either Ramiele or Syesha. It is not that Syesha was that bad, but she just was not that good, and you cannot take on a song everyone knows that was sung so well before and not deliver. Syesha is too full of herself to understand that she could not get it done. However, I don’t think that she will be eliminated this week. Ramiele, as you say, simply does not have any of the qualities that will translate into being more. She has a good voice, but she does not have that killer instinct to move her forward, and I agree that she should be done tonight.
Also, I must say that Michael Johns really stepped it up (and on something other than a Queen song!). I was worried that his bluesy performance may not connect that broadly, but I think he showed something more unique than we have seen before.
My Bottom 3:
Ramiele-she will stay with the massive Filipino-American base, which is HUGE.
Kristy Lee
Syesha-GOING HOME: I don't think Chikezie's votes are going to her at all after last night.
I have to disagree with you on a lot of things, as much as I love Ramielle, she gave a great performance that she wouldn't compare it to anything else i've seen by her. I have to give her the go ahead and I think it will be Michael or David C instead.
You're seriously kidding... right? Michael and David C. aren't going anywhere. Ramiele should have gone home every single week -- she's absolutely useless.
It will probably be Syesha or a surprise elimination of Carly or Jason. KLC is probably safe again.
I agree with James on Anonymous's comment, no way it is David C or Michael. David C has too much carryover, even though I thought that this was one of his weakest performances. Michael, as I said earlier, stepped it up and I think he is absolutely safe.
