Twiggy Eliminated from Top Model; Paulina Porizkova is In

It looks like "fashion icon" Twiggy just isn't cuttin' the mustard anymore on America's Next Top Model -- she will be replaced beginning next season with supermodel Paulina Porizkova.

According to a press release from the CW, Twiggy is leaving the show due to "scheduling conflicts." Mmmmhmmm -- in other words, she's too boring to sit next to Tyra and Ms. Jay!

I was actually quite charmed by Paulina when she was briefly on Dancing with the Stars last season, so perhaps she'll bring some spice to the show, which is an element severely lacking since the departure of spitfire Janice Dickinson several years ago.

Dancing with the Stars Results: Peace Out Paulina

The great ABC vs. Fox Fight of 2007 came to an anticlimactic finish -- Dancing with the Stars didn't even really begin the results show until 9:08. What are you, ABC, chicken?

There are moments of this show that are even more painful than the torturous American Idol results show. The padding and plugs for ABC shows are out of control, and, really, two Dionne Warwick performances? Dionne must be on the reality tv tour, since she also put in an appearance on last year's Idol finale. I think her time might be better spent helping her niece Whitney Houston stay on the straight and narrow.

Having said all that, however, there are several moments that make the show worth watching. The professional dancers are pretty dazzling, the interviews with the contestants are entertaining, and the clip of the celebrities who were eliminated first is fascinating, in a sort of sad way.

But hands down the best moment of the night was when Samantha Harris totally screwed the pooch! She revealed that Paulina and Alec were in the Bottom 2 before she was supposed to, fumbled over her words, and then tried to cover it by naming all 7 couples that were left standing. She is terrible. If I was that bad at my job, I would be fired. ABC, are you listening to me?

And you know that Tom Bergeron just wants to punch her in the face.

So, the first celebrity eliminated from this season is Paulina Porizkova. I'm disappointed, as she seemed to have a pretty wicked sense of humor, and I think she could have been entertaining for a few more weeks. More entertaining than Shandi, at least. Alas, we'll have to put up with the "All-American couple" one more week.
