Sneek Peek: Kristen Bell in Princess Leia's Gold Bikini

I've loved Kristen Bell ever since she appeared on Broadway in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. I also caught her Off-Broadway in Reefer Madness, and of course I was a huge fan of Veronica Mars. But I've never seen her like this!

Thanks to egotastic.com, here is a photo of Kristen from the upcoming movie Fanboys, in which she plays the female member of a group that is trying to steal an early copy of Episode I: The Phantom Menace for their dying friend. Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel and Dan Fogler also appear in the film.

Doesn't Kristen look great??

Veronica Mars To Visit Heroes

This is the kind of news that makes fanboys go wild!

Kristen Bell, of the late, great Veronica Mars, will appear on NBC's Heroes in a multi-episode arc this fall.

According to Variety, "Bell will make her first Heroes appearance in October. She’ll play Elle, a character described as a sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.’s past and the future of Claire. Elle will kick off her arc by committing a serious crime, though it’s unclear whether she’s good or bad."

I never really got into this show, but with the addition of Ms. Bell I just might have to check it out!

Veronica Mars' Logan Will 'Moonlight' This Fall

For all those Veronica Mars fans still mourning the fate of the beloved series, take note -- Logan lives!

Movie Versions of Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls in the Works?

We may have lost some of TV's finest leading ladies in the last week or so, but it's possible we haven't seen the last of Veronica Mars and Rory and Lorelai Gilmore.

According to Michael Ausiello over at TV Guide, Rob Thomas, the creator and executive producer, says that he is considering working on a feature film based on Veronica Mars. In addition, Amy Sherman-Palladino, who left Gilmore Girls at the end of last season, says that she is considering creating a 2-hour TV movie that would wrap up the series in a more conclusive way than last week's finale did. According to Ausiello, Scott Patterson (Luke), Alexis Bledel (Rory), and Lauren Graham (Lorelai) all expressed surprise that Palladino would consider such a move.

How's that for news?

Plans for both shows could, of course, could fall through very easily, but it would be hella exciting to see these dynamic women in different formats, wouldn't it? Stay tuned for more news...

Idol Thoughts on The CW's Fall Schedule

So, I just got back from The CW's upfront presentation (the first upfront I've ever attended), and I'm ready to "get into it," as the new CW slogan goes.

The presentation started with a performance from The Pussycat Dolls, featuring newest member Asia. It was quickly announced that a second season of Search for the Next Pussycat Dolls will be on the schedule come midseason, although it wasn't explained whether the newest winner will replace Asia, or will be come the 700th member of the Dolls. I guess we'll have to wait and see on that one.

Tyra Banks was there too, along with this season's winner and runner-up Jaslene and Natasha, to promote America's Next Top Model. This show is the gift that keeps on giving for The CW, and should provide an excellent lead-in for the network's most exciting newcomer, Gossip Girl. Based on the novels of the same name, and produced by The OC creator Josh Schwartz, the show looks fantastic -- a sort of OC-in-Manhattan, with an equally hot cast. This is one I'm definitely looking forward to.

Also looking promising is Life is Wild, about a veternarian who moves his family to a reserve in South Africa. Yes, the premise sounds a little wonky, but the clips showed at the presentation made it seem like a sort of Everwood-in-South Africa, and anything that even remotely evokes Everwood is a-ok with me.

I was less impressed with the clips of Reaper, featuring Brett Harrison and Tyler Labine, but the crowd seemed to like it's mix of humor and supernatural elements. We'll see about that one.

Also getting a strong response from the crowd were clips from upcoming reality show Crowned, about mothers and daughters competing for a pageant title. If you like the goofiness of Beauty and the Geek, you'll love this one.

Speaking of Beauty and the Geek, it's a bit of a gamble to lead off Tuesday night with this one, especially after female-skewing Gilmore Girls has held down that timeslot for years. It has worked to have Top Model lead off Wednesdays, however, so perhaps it'll pay off for The CW on Tuesdays as well.

There was nary a mention of Veronica Mars throughout the entire presentation, so even though Michael Ausiello and others are reporting there is still a chance it could come back as FBI Agent Mars, my guess is it's gone for good.

Veronica Mars Canceled?

A source very inside at the CW tells me that there is no chance Veronica Mars is coming back in it's current incarnation. I'd say, based on this person's tone, it sounded like there is a 10% chance or so that the show could come back as Agent Mars or whatever they would call it, but at best it would be given six episodes to try out. (The show does, it seems, do very well internationally) This person believes the network has done everything they can to save the show, and it's rating just don't merit a renewal.

As much as I love Kirsten Bell and company, I can't say I disagree.
