Sherri Shepherd Will Join The View

Whoopi Goldberg began her tenure as the new moderator of The View earlier this week, and it now looks like she will be joined by comedian Sherri Shephed when Barbara Walters announces the newest co-host this Monday.

Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com (love that Ausiello!) is reporting that whatever contract disputes prevented Shepherd from being announced earlier have been resolved, and Baba Wawa will name the frequent guest-host as a permanent member of The View team.

This will be the first time the show has had five hosts since Star and Meredith left over a year ago.

Whoopi Joins The View!

After months of speculation, Barbara Walters announced this morning that Academy Award winner and frequent guest host Whoopi Goldberg will join The View this fall as the moderator and permanent co-host of the show.

There was no word on who the second co-host will be, although comedians Sherri Shepard and Kathy Griffin are said to be the frontrunners.

No one can replace Rosie, but what do y'all think about Whoopi joining the panel? It seems like a good fit to me!
