Mia Michaels is a Genius and Lacey Schwimmer Should Win So You Think You Can Dance

Full recap to come, but I gotta say...

Mia Michaels' genius knows no boundaries. She is almost single-handedly responsibile for my newly discovered love of dance, by creating pieces that allow real and honest emotion to come through on the stage, in a way that is different from music or theater. I didn't know I could love her more than I already did after season 1's finale dance for Melody and Ashley, last year's park dance with Travis and Heidi, and the number she created earlier this season for Lacey and Kameron. But then she went and upped the ante. I love her. I love her. I love her.

Yeah, I'm a little obsessed. Sue me.

And while I'm at it, Lacey Schwimmer should win So You Think You Can Dance. She is ridiculously versatile, she can be both sexy and funny, and she has been a part of two of the season's best dances (tonight and Mia Michaels' Top 20 piece for her and Kameron). Sabra is amazing, Danny is a ridiculously gorgeous dancer, and Pasha and Sara have proven to be remarkably versatile, but Lacey is what this competition is all about. And she's done something her brother Benji was never asked to do -- conquer contemporary. Benji was the king of the ballroom, and surprisingly adept at hip hop, but Lacey is so good in every style that it's easy to lose sight of what her background actually is.

I will remain open to Sabra or Danny perhaps sneaking into my winner's circle, but right now I'm on Team Lacey. All the way.

Full recap, rankings, and predictions of who is going home to come...

Mia's piece was so well written I think my dog could have made it work, I didn't get anything from Lacey in the piece. But that's the beauty of dance, we don't all have to agree.

For what its worth I think Lacey can only do one style - sexual innuendo - her non-raunchy numbers have left me cold. But I realise I am in the minority there!

I'd like to see Sabra win.

I love Lacey but I definitly have been enjoying Sabra more and more as the competition moves on. Due to Danny's slow start with the public. I suspect it will be one of the two girls who will take it all.

SABRA WILL WIN SHE IS AMAZING AND ALWAYS ENTERTAINING TO WATCH. LACEY IS NOT THAT GOOD TO ME.

What's with this blindfold some people have with "Lacey should win" talk...Idol Thoughts?

Clearly you are confused in your judgements. The piece that Mia choreographed was in my opinion her anticipation that Danny or Sabra would be in that dance studio doing that dance celebrating her father. She's said it before that she wants to get her hands on SABRA and she thinks the world of DANNY. It was the unlucky draw of the dance cards that stuck her with Lacey and Neil.

Sorry to burse your bubble, but they "didn't do much of anything" but get on stage and try to be what Mia had envisioned for DANNY and/or SABRA to perform. I hope Mia gets her chance with DANNY and SABRA next week.

Lacey needs to go home and dance for the family get to togethers. She is not GOOD enough to win this competition. SABRA has her number hands down. Go SABRA. Go DANNY.

I could not have said this better myself. I am not impressed with Lacey at all. She is so harsh and unclean looking. She looks like her weave stinks. Kameron complained that her hair stinks. She really performed Mia's dance with no technique at all. I will not remember the dance and the dress looked too small on her. Sabra and Danny would have had everyone in America crying.

Anonymous you said it...

America would have really felt what Mia was trying to portray with her choreography if Danny and Sabra had danced for her. I felt nothing watching L. and N. The judges overrated the dancing, because of Mia. What they tried to convey in their critiques wasn't about the dance but more about Mia's feelings for her father.

Danny gives me chills whenever I watch him dance and Sabra makes me watch in wonderment of how awesomely good she is in that tight little frame of hers. They both have a beautiful gift from God. What they do is unbelievably spiritual.
